The Full Story

About

Aunt Phyllis Legacy Academy began as a simple dance group, but it quickly became clear that we needed to offer more than just steps. We wanted to nurture young artists, not just dancers. With the arrival of our incredible ballet teacher our journey towards becoming a full-fledged dance studio began. The addition of three black talented instructors to our team marked a turning point. Together, we transformed Aunt Phyllis into a vibrant dance studio offering a variety of classes. Inspired by the timeless classic "The Wiz," we created our own rendition, "The Legacy of the Wiz," an annual production that has become a beloved tradition. This year, we're taking it to new heights with a performance at Marian High School on June 8th, 2025!

Aunt Phyllis Legacy Academy is more than just dance. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing accessible arts education to Black and Brown youth in our community. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity and reach their full potential, regardless of their financial background.

With our exceptional leaders leading the way, we are committed to expanding our programs and empowering our students to excel both artistically and academically.
